May all beings everywhere, with whom we are inseparably interconnected, be fulfilled, awakened, and free. May there be peace in this world and throughout the entire universe, and may we all together complete the spiritual journey.

This king is pulling a thorn rope through a hole in his tong while the blood & pain run down into the sacrificial bowl. [Now I’ll have to search for the source and description since this image came naked into my world.]
Clifton comes to my rescue: That is a famous Mayan stela. If I recall correctly, the king is the one standing, that is his wife who is kneeling and drawing the thorny rope through her tongue (which was the common manner for Mayan elite women to offer blood during rituals - men usually just cut their arms or punctured the sides of their penis with a fancy little bone awl)
“Lintel 24 from Yaxchilan, Mexico. In a blood-letting ritual that took place on 28 October AD 709 the ruler ‘Shield Jaguar’ holds a torch, while his wife Lady Xok draws a thorn-studded roper through a hole in her tongue. Screen-fold books rest in the basket at her knees. Late Classic Period.”
